Abstract (EN)

One of the main functions of the dishwasher is drying. In the drying process, it is aimed to evaporate the water on the loads placed in the dishwasher and to condense the evaporated water in a region or to transfer it to the outside of the cabinet. Within the scope of the thesis, a low cost, sustainable and environmentally friendly drying system working with the principle of natural convection has been designed. Before the drying step, there is a large amount of humid air inside the machine. With the effect of evaporation in the loads, the amount of moisture is constantly increasing. In order for the evaporation and thus the drying of the loads to continue, the humidity rate in the cabinet must be reduced. This is possible in two ways. The first method is to condense the moist air inside the machine. The second method is to exhaust the moist air out of the machine. With the proposed system, two drying channels were added to the machine. Thanks to the added channels, the moist air inside the machine is thrown out and fresh air is taken instead. This improves drying performance and allows drying with lower energy consumption. With the new drying system designed, the performances of the existing systems were compared according to the method specified in the EN 60436 standard.
