Özet (EN)

The present research attempted to compare diabetic patients with healthy controls in terms of LDH activity and other characteristics. Patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) of both types 1 and 2 were included in the study, as were 40 healthy individuals (the "control" group). All of the people are between the ages of 40 and 75. From October 2021 to January 2022, a number of hospitals in Kirkuk, Iraq, participated in the research. The results showed the average age of control group is 31.23 ±1.27, while the average age of diabetes type I group is 41.62 ±1.79. The average age of diabetes type II group is 36.15 ±2.09. BMI in control group is 23.99 ±1.76 and in diabetes (type I and II) group is 28.72 ±1.12 and 27.05 ±0.87 respectively. Lipid profile showed significant (P<0.05) increased and decreased in between studied groups. Patients with diabetes types I and II had significantly higher levels of uric acid, LDH, and insulin than those in the control group (P 0.05). Patients with diabetes type I and type II exhibited a substantial (P 0.05) drop in serum salt and magnesium levels compared to the control group. It's concluded that the both types of diabetes mellitus lead to significant (P <0.05) differences in the studied parameters.
