Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine whether attachment styles in married individuals have a predictive effect on self-esteem, gender roles and adult separation anxiety. The sample of the study is among married individuals living in Konya. A total of 400 individuals, 249 women and 151 men, participated in the study. In this study, the data were obtained by Demographic Information Form, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Gender Roles Attitude Scale, Relationship Scales Questionnaire, Adult Separation Anxiety Questionnaire. According to the findings: It was determined that secure attachment has a negative significant relationship with fearful attachment and dismissive attachment, self-esteem, gender roles attitude and separation anxiety. Fearful attachment, dismissive attachment, self-esteem and separation anxiety were found to be positively correlated, while preoccupied attachment, self-esteem, gender roles attitude and separation anxiety showed a positive significant relationship. Dismissive attachment, on the other hand, was found to be positively correlated with self-esteem and separation anxiety, and had a positive significant relationship with adult separation anxiety, self-esteem, and gender roles attitudes. It was determined that secure and preoccupied, fearful attachment styles statistically significantly predicted gender roles attitudes. It was determined that fearful dismissive attachment styles statistically significantly predicted adult separation anxiety.
