Özet (EN)

The main purpose of this study was to explore whether there is a relationship between married individuals' empathic tendency levels and their decision-making styles. In addition, the study examined married individuals' decision-making styles in terms of sociodemographic characteristics. The participants included 323 married individuals living in the Seyhan, Çukurova, Yüreğir, and Sarıçam central districts of the city of Adana, selected by convenience sampling method. The Empathic Tendency Scale (EES), the Melbourne Decision-Making Questionnaire (MDMQ), and the Personal Information Form developed by the prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools in the study. In data analysis, In Social Sciences Statistical program was used depending on the variables, and frequency, percentage, Pearson correlation coefficient, independent samples t-test, and standard multiple regression analysis techniques were performed. According to the study results, vigilance decision making, procrastinating decision making, hypervigilance decision making, and the variable of sex were predictors of empathic tendency. However, buck passing decision making, and the variables of education level and working status did not have an effect on empathic tendency. On the other hand, the variables of empathic tendency and the number of marriages were significant predictors of vigilance decision making. In addition, empathic tendency, education level, and marriage style were found to be significant predictors of buck passing decision-making style, whereas sex and number of children were not found to be significant predictors. While empathetic tendency, education level, and marriage style were predictors of procrastinating decision-making style, sex was not determined as a significant predictor. The significant predictors of hypervigilance decision-making style were found to be empathetic tendency and marriage style, whereas education level and the number of children did not have the same effect.
