Comparison of relation between the perception of married couples' parents' family structure and their own family

This research is done in order to understand whether there is a relation between the perception of married couples? parents? family structure in terms of communication, unity, management, perfection, emotional context, individual, satisfaction, resistanc and these couples? perception of their own marriage according to the same variables which measured by FSED. The universe of the research consists of 100 married couples who were living in Istanbul in 2005?2006. In this research, the couples perceptions of their structures and their original families? family structures are measured by ?Family Structure Evaluation Device (AYDA) which was developed Professor Aydan Gülerce, a lecturer in Bosphorus University in 1988. The couples? personal information is set by ?Personal Information Forum?. In analyzing the data taken, the points which the couples gave to their own families and their original families are determined. The information taken by using FSED (AYDA) is given in the form of tables the overages and Standard aviations of the personal information of couples that are to be used in the research are also stated. Whether there is a relation between their perception of the couples? own family structure and the perception of their original family structure is controlled by using variation analysis, t-test, Tukey Cramer test, Pearson Moment Correlation. The meaningfulness level in the research is accepted as .05. As a result of the research; It is seen that there is no relationship between the women and men?s perception of their own family structures and their parents? family structures; men?s and woman?s perceptions of their own family structures don?t change according to the sex; the women aged between 20?35 perceive their family structure as healtier than the women aged between 52?67 in terms of satisfaction; the women and men of a high socio-economic level perceive that their own family structures are healtier in terms of satisfaction; the women who have been married between 1?5 years perceive their own family structures healtier than the women who have been married between 16?30 years in terms of communication. In addition, the men who have been married between 1?5 years perceive their own family structures healtier than the men who have been married between 16?30 years in terms of administration and individual; The women and men?s who are graduates of BA and MA perceive their own family structures healtier than the other women and men?s of primary school graduates in terms of communication.
