Master's Thesis, Biruni University, Graduate Education Institute, Istanbul. This research is a study that deals with the concept of social media jealousy, which is a current issue and about which there are limited studies. This study, which examines married individuals' marital satisfaction and social media jealousy in terms of various demographic variables, is a pioneering study. The research was conducted with the relational scanning model. The participants of this research consist of accessible married individuals who live in various provinces in Turkey and maintain long or close distance relationships. In this study, the Marital Satisfaction Scale and the Social Media Jealousy in Romantic Relationships Scale were used. SPSS 22.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program was used to analyze the data. Nonparametric tests were applied to analyze the data. When the analysis results are examined, relationship satisfaction in marriage; It does not show a statistically significant difference according to the variables of relational distance, gender, education level, employment status, duration of marriage, whether or not having children, how one got married, the type of social media used, the time spent on social media, and the frequency of checking the spouse's social media account. However, marital satisfaction varies statistically significantly according to age. Social media jealousy in romantic relationships; When relationship distance is examined in terms of education level, employment status, having children or not, type of marriage, type of social media used, ve time spent on social media, there is no statistically significant difference. On the other hand, it was observed that the variables of gender, age, education level, duration of marriage, frequency of checking the spouse's social media account had significant differences in terms of the level of social media jealousy in romantic relationships. It was also concluded that the respect for social media domain sub-dimension of the Social Media Jealousy in Romantic Relationships Scale predicts marital satisfaction. As a result, the respect shown to the spouse's social media space in social media use emerges as a new research topic.
