Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the impact of perfectionism and self-efficacy on marriage attitudes among adult individuals. The study sample consisted of 358 adults. General Self-Efficacy Scale, and İnönü Marriage Attitude Scale were used as measurement tools. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between perfectionism, self-efficacy, and marriage attitude. Specifically, self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism were found to be significant predictors of marriage attitude, whereas other-oriented perfectionism showed no significant relationship with marriage attitude. Furthermore, individuals with higher self-efficacy levels exhibited more positive marriage attitudes. The findings indicate that psychological traits significantly influence individuals' perceptions and attitudes toward marriage. In this regard, it is recommended that marriage counseling processes consider individuals' perfectionism tendencies and self-efficacy levels to promote healthier marital attitudes.
