Comparative research abaut the settlements that Evliyâ Çelebi saw i̇n the Eastern Black Sea and present condition of these places

The Black Sea towns in the second volume of Seyahatname are the essence of our work. The aim of the thesis is to determine how these towns have changed and developed from the 17th century to our day and to do this detection based on Evliya Çelebi's Seyehatname. In order to evaluate Evliya Çelebi's Seyehatname, we detected the works written on The Black Sea; We benefited from provincial archive and libraries and also we benefited from research, in situ observations, detection and comparison, repair of text methods. Moreover, when, it was necessary, we used provincial yearbooks and official websites of municipalities. Evliya There are many places left blank and it was shown as (…) . We carried out the repair of textbooks by making on –site observations and by establishing contact with official institutions. We took the language of the period, grammar features, the writer's vocabulary and composition and phonetic features of Turkish language into account. At the begining of our work, we wrote the history and geography of Black Sea towns by benefiting from sources. We summarizied the the administrative structure of Trabzon uder the title of the Administrative Structure of 17th century. We specified the Evliya Çelebi's road on the map. We stated the settlements he saw by dot. We analyzed Trabzon according to Yücel Dağlı's city investigation plan. Our city analysing method is stated in following paragraph. Firstly, we gave Evliya Çelebi's Seyehatname's transcription text. Then, we translated it into modern Turkish. The left blank parts were filled by the method of repair of textbooks Evliya Çelebi tarafından boş bırakılan yerleri metin tamiri yöntemi ile doldurup, and we investigated the accuracy of the information given in the text.
