Particles in Evliyâ Çelebi's Seyahatnâme (V. I)

Prepositions are one of the controversial topics in Turkish grammar studies. Its scope, function and classification have been the subject of debate for many years. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in studies on prepositions. In this study, the prepositions in the first volume of Seyahatnâme were analyzed in terms of etymology, morphology and semantics. In the scanning and classification of prepositions, Prof. Dr. Necmettin Hacıeminoğlu's work named "Türk Dilinde Edatlar" was used to a large extent. Conjunctions and exclamations, which are handled under separate headings in today's studies, are discussed under the same title in terms of their semantic similarities with prepositions.
