Abstract (EN)
This study that Grade II of diastolic dysfunction and patients receiving medicaltreatment for changing eating habits with healthy eating habits and to gain aperson's quality of life reflections on the anthropometric measurements and bloodbiochemistry values were conducted to follow. Ufuk University Cardiology Clinic studyin grade II with the diagnosis of diastolic dysfunction treated as outpatients whovolunteered to participate in the study, provide search criteria to the total 21 wereperformed on patients. Diet group (n=13) and control group (n=8), the generalinformation of the patients in question were applied to the questionnaire. Diet groupand control group of patients in the 0.month (initial) and subsequent 3.months with6.months body weight, bioelectric impedance analysis and waist-hip circumferencemeasurements were taken. Nutritional status of patients in 0.month food consumptionfrequency, in 0.month and 6.month records 3-day 24-hour food consumption wastaken. Patients? levels of quality of life specified by using Nottingham Health Profilequestionnaire in the 0.month and 6.month, physical activity levels were determined in0.month with IPAQ questionnaire. The study of participating patients? cardiologypoliclinic follow-up of the routine biochemistry was collected in 0.month (initial) and6.month, and echocardiogram reviews in this period were made by cardiologists. Inthis study the age range of the diet patients were within 50.8±6.9 years, while thecontrol group were 54.3±8.4 years and mean treatment duration of diastolicdysfunction in Grade II disease were within 3.0±3.7 years, meanwhile the average ofthe patients in the control group were 5.0±6.4 years. The difference in percentage ofenergy from protein, from carbohydrates, from total fats, from saturated fatty acids, from polyunsaturated fatty acids and amount of dietary fiber and soluble/insolublefiber consumption of the patients in diet in 0.month and 6.month was statisticallysignificant (p<0.05). Daily dietary consumption of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitaminB6, folic acid and vitamin C in the diet group of patients between 0.month and6.month was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Meanwhile the differencebetween 0.month and 6.month in daily average consumption of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron in diet group patients were found to bestatistically significant (p<0.05). When the anthropometric measurements of patientsin diet group were compared in 0.month with 3.months and 6.months, there had beenan statistically significant decrease between the values of body weight, BMI and waistVcircumference (p<0.05). Between the period `zero month with 3.month, 0.month with6.month, 3.month with 6.month, there had been a statistically significant increase inwaist circumference and hip circumference measurements in the control group(p<0.05). When anthropometric measurements of patients in diet group werecompared between 0.month with 3.month and 6.month, the values of body weightBMI and waist circumference were statistically significant decreased (p<0.05). Withthe highest score of diet group?s energy level in related chapter of Notthigham Health(46.7±31.1) the reduction in 6.month between periods was statistically significant(p<0.05) The reduction in E/E' ratio between 0.month and 6.months between dietgroup and control group were not statistically significant (p>0.05), but the ratioreduction in diet group in the 6.month was statistically significant (p<0.05). Inconclusion, nutrition therapy is an important part of changing life style that seems toplay an important role in heart failure treatment. With an accurate and effectivetreatment besides a scheduled feeding can provide an improved prognosis of thedisease, and an increase in patients' quality of life.
