Abstract (EN)
This study is about the illustrations and how universal those illustrations are in the illustrated children's books printed between 1930 and 2010. These illustrations are analyzed through if they are appropriate and what they give to children along with the methods used in illustrating them. What determines the future of a country as well as the child is visual education that children get in pre-school education; those children are one of the most important values that makes up the society. In the I.section, the concept of childhood has been defined in universal meaning. The questions when and where was this definition first needed has been investigated. This concept has been examined in 4 different age groups according to the science of education, psychology and cognitive development rules. The progress of the childhood concept in our country has been examined through 3 different age groups taking it from Gokturks and Orhıun booklets up till today. In the II. section the definition of children's books has been examined in 4 cultural duration taking the concept form BC up to today. The tales of people communication through gestures are defined as tales for grownups. 2nd duration was the years that German educator Comenius's illustrations for the first children's book "Orbis Pictus" under the title of I.-XV century Renaissance and the Printing Press. 3rd duration that's been examined here is XVIII; Independence and gaining years. This duration is the time when children were taken into consideration with child-like designs and taken as important. 4th duration that's examined, XX century, is taken as the term that human rights is most needed. This term is when children are examined with the effect of history, art and education. In the III. section the basic elements are examined under 4 main titles prose, illustration, design and production techniques. In the illustrations examined the exemplifications are made according to childhood components. In the IV. section 4 different duration in our country are analyzed since the foundation the Republic until today with their sociological nuances. With universal culture meaning the illustrated children's books from other countries and those in our country are compared with each other and evaluated.
