Özet (EN)
The history of work is as old as the history of humanity. From the era of hunting and gathering to the present day, significant changes have occurred. The workforce in the realm of work has continually transformed. Through various revolutions and the risks encountered throughout individuals' lifetimes, income loss has been a common experience. Consequently, the concept of the welfare state has developed. States that operate with a welfare state mentality have established necessary systems to maintain the balance of production and consumption in the economy. They have compensated individuals' income losses through various social security tools. States have developed systems to transfer income to individuals below a certain income level, with examples including unemployment benefits and other income-providing applications. They have supported individuals who fall short in terms of economic livelihood through the systems they have established. With the advent of the Industry 4.0 revolution, automation in production has become a reality. The use of intelligent systems in the production of goods and services has increasingly excluded labor from production processes. The aim of my research is to investigate the replacement of human labor with robots in the production field and its outcomes, considering the scope of the automation era realized with Industry 4.0, where artificial intelligence can easily perform human-like characteristics and capabilities. Concerns have arisen that the mechanization in production will lead to increased unemployment and loss of income for labor. In response to this loss, country-specific studies have been conducted on the provision of income support to individuals through universal basic income applications. The impacts on individuals, the state, and entrepreneurs have been analyzed. Historical studies have been conducted on similar applications. Recent pilot projects, both ongoing and concluded, have been examined. The research has been conducted considering the economic conditions of the countries. The effects of universal basic income on individuals, the state, and entrepreneurs have been analyzed. The study has been supported by a literature review.
