Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the achievements and attitudes of 7th grade students about household wastes and recycling by using cooperative learning, demonstration and lecture techniques. The study group of the research consists of three different classes of 7th grade students in a public school. "Quasi-experimental design with pre-test post-test control group" was used in the research model. Domestic waste and recycling achievement test was applied as pre-test and post-test to measure students' achievements, and environmental attitude scale was applied as pre-test and post-test to measure their attitudes. SPSS Statistics 27 programme was used to analyse the data obtained in the study. According to the data obtained as a result of the research, a significant difference was observed in the achievement scale in the pre-test and post-test within the groups. Only the co-operative learning group showed a significant difference in attitude scales. In the comparison between the groups, significant differences were also observed between the groups in achievement scales. No significant difference was observed in the comparisons of cooperative learning and demonstration techniques. In the attitude scale, a significant difference was observed only between the control group in which the lecture technique was used and Group-1 in which the cooperative learning technique was used.
