Abstract (EN)
Municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) usually have odor problems. WWTPs usually are placed in remote areas far from neighborhoods. However, as population increases and cities expand overtime, WWTPs can be surrounded by urban communities. As a result, unpleasant odors from WWTPs can be carried into surrounding neigborhoods. For this reason, criticial units of a WWTP such as aeration basin must be covered to prevent potential release of volatile compounds from these units. This study presents design and application of coverage system for the WWTP of Sakarya city, Turkey.
