Exhibition situations of conceptual art in Türkiye: A study on arter

This thesis aims to provide a deeper understanding of the exhibition situation of Conceptual Art in Turkey, which emerged after 1960, and the experiences of artists from Turkey who have had solo exhibitions at Arter since 2019. Conceptual art is a movement based on thought, and this thesis will focus on the exhibition practices of this movement in Turkey. Solo exhibitions at Arter Contemporary Art Institution will be the focal point of this investigation, and interviews with artists from Turkey will provide concrete data. These interviews will be essential for understanding how artists perceive conceptual art, their challenges in the exhibition process, and their expectations. Based on the data obtained, it aims to contribute to the exhibition practice of conceptual art in Turkey by developing more effective solutions for future exhibitions. The methodology of this thesis will include an in-depth analysis of the sample exhibitions and an academic examination of the artists' experiences.
