Besides, theinterest of the fourth-year students, attending the program in Arts and CraftsEducation in the Department of Fine Arts at A.I.B.U, is determined.The art of exlibris which has a history of over 1500 years is examined,considering its historical periods. In addition, the development of this art form in ourcountry is emphasized, and the format of its design and application is stated. Also,this research contains an analysis conducted to determine the interest of the fourth-year students at the Department of Arts and Crafts Education in the Faculty ofEducation at A.I.B.U.This art form which has an essential historical period particularly in Europehas recently become well-known in our country as a consequence of the efforts of theExlibris Association in Ankara. Exlibris has known by more and more people day byday , and in institutions of Fine Arts Education some lecturers having an interest ofexlibris lead their students to carry out exlibris studies. As can be inferred from theprimary illustrations of exlibris left by the great masters of art history and exlibrismuseums in abroad, this art form has a significant place in printing and the art ofgraphic.In our country, exlibris does not have a historical development as in Europe.Due to the fact that it is not so well-known, it is not given necessary importancewhich it deserves in the institutions of Fine Arts Education. It is not a form of artwhose value should not be discussed. Nevertheless, that it is a neglected form of artis a common fact. It is expected that it will become well-known and have moresignificant role in the institutions of Fine Arts Education Program when the numberof researchers carrying out analyses regarding exlibris increases. Hence, in order toreveal its situation, how much the fourth-year students at the Department of FineArts at A.I.B.U know about this rooted art form is analyzed and their views related tohaving exlibris courses are stated.Key Words: Exlibris, Supralibros, Graphic Design
