Abstract (EN)

Thanks to increasing globalization and rapidly developing technology, multicultural environments have become quite common in organizations. With the breakdown of global walls, multicultural environments can be very beneficial for many organizations, but can cause great difficulties for others. One of the challenges faced by these large companies is to effectively manage multicultural environments. The concept of cultural intelligence draws attention in managing this multicultural environment, which is very difficult for organizations. Cultural intelligence, which is one of the most important concepts for organizations, is an important social skill required for leaders of organizations working in cross-cultural contexts to communicate effectively in such environments. In this context, organizational structure seems to play an active role in developing and encouraging such skills in an organization. Therefore, expats working in these organizations work in an environment of different cultures, which is a challenging task due to lack of cultural knowledge and difficulties in adapting to the foreign culture. This situation may affect their organizational performance. Especially in large companies such as Turkish Airlines and Unilever operating in our country, there may be more expats. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of cultural intelligence of expats on organizational performance. As a result of the study, the effect of cultural intelligence of expats on organisational performance was examined. According to the results of the analysis, while the main hypothesis is accepted, some sub-hypotheses are rejected.
