The Complex of Mihrişah Valide Sultan in Eyüb and restoration conservation suggestions

İn the entrance chapter of this study the purpose, the content and the method of the subject are explained. İn the second chapter the geographical and social structure of Eyüp, its historical development and how Eyüp was physically shaped is studied by examining the important buildings one by one. İn the third chapter first the beginning reasons of modernization, then how much and in which ways the architecture is effected by the relations prepared by moderniza tion and developments are searched. And especially during the 18th century the developments in religious architecture is examined. Architecture of Külliye, that is gained to the world architecture by Ottomans also the differences between Turkish külliyes and Mihrisah Valide Sultan Külliye is explained. After investigation of the construction date, who constructed the Külliye and the peculiarities of general settlement, the buildings that form the Külliye first in the site plan scale, then one by one according to space, structural, facade and ornament characteristics are examined and buildings' survey and restoration projects are prepared. İn the fourth chapter the damages in materials and function are determined and the reasons that caused the damages are explained, interferences according to the damages in Külliye are defined and for this reason restoration projects is developed. By this project new functions are formed and the needs of functions are defined.
