Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT PCOS is the most common endocrinopathy, affecting 5-10% women in reproductive age. Hyperandrogenism is associated with chronic anovulation, infertility, hirsutism, increased insulin resistance, type 2 DM, cardiovascular diseases, endometrium and over cancer. To investigate the association of genetic polymorphism rs2197076 of the gene encoding for FABP1 protein with occurance of the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In a prospective case control study, we analyzed polymorphism of the FABP1 gene in a series of 75 premenopausal Turkish women with PCOS and 76 healty controls. DNA was isolated from the blood sample and genotypes was defined with RT-PCR assay. In our study there were no significant difference between study and kontrol groups for FABP1 genes and alles. Keywords: Polycystic ovary syndrome, polymorphism, FABP1
