Abstract (EN)

It is a fact that the role of social networks on traditional life practices is becoming increasingly decisive. Because of their nature, social networks allow us to reach more other people who are "like us and think like us" as well as providing a sheltered environment that allows us to express ourselves more easily. This structure of social networks facilitating the outward appearance in human beings also suits the nature of fanaticism. Fan pages, which are among the most active, most popular applications of social media, give the opportunity to fans to express themselves in all suitable environments from sports to arts, politics, and literature. It is an observable phenomenon that fanatics who come together occasionally get into heated debates along with hate speeches with the sense of belonging. Hate speeches are spreading much faster and more active in this new field of media than the traditional media. The hate speech spreading through the new media is combined with fans' feelings of affection and belonging. With the applications in social media, users can react instantly and at the same time they can build up contents about hate speech and the participation to its contents. In this study, hate speech and the unofficial fan pages of Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray which has the most users in social media teams created on Facebook, have been examined and the process of dissemination of hate speech through social media has been discussed.
