Özet (EN)

In this thesis, we have tried to examine the issue of prophecy, which is one of the basic principles of İslâm. Due to the comprehensive nature of the subject, we have tried to examine the view of prophecy of Abu Nasr Muhammad al-Fârâbî, known as Muʻallim al-Sānā or Hace al-Sānā (Second Master / Magister secundus), one of the İslâmic philosophers, in terms of Kalam's view of revelation. Our study consists of three parts. In the first part, the issue of prophecy in Kalam and İslâmic philosophy will be discussed, and we will try to compile the views of the theological sects under the headings of prophecy in the Salaf, Mu'tazila, Ash'arite and Māturīdī thought. In İslâmic philosophy, considering the chronological hierarchy, we will try to compile only Kindi's views on prophecy. In the second part, Fārābī's understanding of prophecy is analyzed. At first, the systematicity of the thinker's understanding of prophecy is discussed and the "al-ʿaql al-faal", Munfail Intellect, Müstafad Intellect and the faculties of Imagination, which represent the backbone of Fārābī's prophetic systematics, are explained. Then, the "al-ʿaql al-faal", which represents the highest level that human beings can reach and the level where human beings can acquire divine knowledge, is emphasized. In the third and last chapter, the evaluation of Fārābī's view of prophecy in terms of theology's view of revelation is discussed, and the philosophers' interpretations of the faculty of imagination, the "al-ʿaql al-faal" (Gabriel) and the theologians' views against them are compiled and evaluated, and then the conclusion is made.
