Abstract (EN)
Liver fat, which expresses excess fat accumulation in the liver at rates exceeding 5% of the total liver mass, is increasing rapidly all over the world. The history of the treatment of liver steatosis with balneotherapeutic methods goes back many years. In this research project, 50 Albino rats of the same age were used. Six weeks after alcoholic fatty liver fatty acid formation with ethyl alcohol (EtOH) in all animals, 50 rats forming the study material were divided into two groups as control and study groups for a period of 21 days. In the treatment stage, control animals were treated with normal tap water, while the study group treated animals with spa water. In all animals; clinical, hematological, blood biochemical and histopathological examinations were performed before starting the study after fatty liver formation and 1, 7, 14 and 21 days after treatment. When compared with the control group; Total leukocyte, neutrophil, monocyte, AST, ALT, GGT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL levels were significantly decreased (p <0,05) in the group of animals treated with spa water, erythrocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit, total protein, albumin, HDL levels were significantly (p <0,05) increased. These changes were confirmed by histopathological findings. In the light of the data obtained from this study, it was concluded that the spa waters of Afyonkarahisar Region provided a very successful treatment in the liver fatty cases and should be considered as an option in the cases of liver fatty cases.
