Abstract (EN)

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the most progressive common neurodegenerative disease. Its statistics continue to rise year after year. The degeneration of the brain cell that makes dementia lead to a decrease in thinking and memory. Many hypotheses explain the cause of AD. Also, many risk factors play an important role in this disease but the exact cause is still unknown. Drugs reduce the symptoms of the disease not cure it. N-methyl d-aspartate (NMDA) antagonists and acetylcholinesterase enzyme inhibitors (naturally derived, synthetic, and hybrid analogues) are the two categories of drugs that are readily available for use. The mice was givin scopolamine (1 mg/kg i. p.) for 15 days to cause anti-amnesic Alzheimer-like disease. Donepezil (5mg/kg s.c.) was administered for 15 days, and Memantine (1mg/kg i.p.) was administered for 15 days, both were administered as a treatment for amnesia. The evaluation of the mice's spatial memory and learning was done using Morris Water Maze test. MWM test shows that there is no change in memory performance in the memantine and donepezil group that compered with control and scopolamine group. Values were expressed as the mean ± standard deviation (Stdev). A value of p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Key word: AD, Mice, Scopolamine, Donepezil, Memantine, MWM,
