Abstract (EN)
Chlorophenols are used in many areas such as agriculture, industry and public health. They are classified as one of the prior pollutans in hazardous waste list. Many different methods are suggested in the literature for the removal of phenolic compounds in waste water. However, studies prove that, adsorption is the main method for the removal of phenolic compounds.In this study, removal of 2-chlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, which are found in industrial effluents and also known as more dispersal to the environment, were investigated. Sorption experiments were performed in batch system and granule activated carbon, Amberlite XAD-4 and CMSt/DVB were used as adsorbents.Adsorption capacities and selectivities of the adsorbents were investigated and Langmuir and Freudlich isotherm models were developed.
