Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to find out, employability of the different consolidated composite beams as a main frame in overhead crane which are made from pulturated Double T glass fiber reinforced profile. In numeric and experimental studies, dynamic shear stresses of beams have been tried to be find out for the simply supported beam configuration under a defined motion load. The profiles which have been investigated for their dynamic behaviors were made from composite material which is gradually becoming more important in engineering applications. In recent years, composite materials have been used widely in aerospace, automotive and marine industries which require decreasing ratio of lightness/robustness. Therefore, in this study development process, field of usage, manufacturing methods and mechanical properties of composite materials were investigated and explained. The profiles employed in the numerical studies were modeled utilizing the softwares Unigraphics (Version 3.0) and ANSYS Workbench Design Modeler (Version 11.0). Finite element modeling of the profiles was conducted by using ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS (11.0). The behavior of the portal crane which is under dynamic loads has been investigated by using RecurDyn (Version 7.0). In this study, the results of secure elasticity ratio over the beams were considered and then determined as ?length of beam /1000?.In this thesis, CTP profiles are classified as EN23 under the EN13706 category and E-glass was made from fiber and polyester. Results of the numeric and experimental analyses can be found in the conclusion part of this thesis.
