Effect of different zinc doses on yield and some yield components in beans

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of applying the different zinc doses on yield and some yield components of Göynük-98 bean variety in the conditions of the Mudurnu district of Bolu province. The zinc doses (kontrol, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 5 kg/da Zn) were obtained from 22% zinc sulfate fertilizer and were applied to the soil. The study was carried out in three repetitions according to the randomized blocks design in the production season of 2021, in the experimental area allocated to Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Mudurnu Süreyya Astarcı Vocational High School. In this study conducted under field conditions, the effects of different zinc doses on plant height, plant weight, number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, pod weight, number of pods per pod, number of grains per plant, plant seed yield and yield per decare were investigated. According to the result of the study, mean values of the traits varies between 42.17-34.93 cm for the plant height, 45.19-26.07 g for plant weight, 2.27-1.53 pieces for number of branches per plant, 18.73-11.53 pieces for number of pods per plant, 27.11-15.23 g for pod weight, 2.38-1.38 seeds for number of seeds per pod, 30.60-15.67 seeds for the number of seeds per plant, 13.68-5.70 g fort he seed yield per plant and 273.72–114.08 kg/da for the yield per decare. The highest average yield per decare was obtained from a zinc dose of 2 kg/da. However, it is considered beneficial to repeat the experiment in the relevant environment for a few more years in order to recommend the zinc dose that affects the yield trait.
