Effects of different ecological conditions of pollen, fruit yield and quality characteristics in some short day and day neutral strawberry cultivars

Two day neutral (Selva and Tango) and two short day (Douglas and Eraly Glow) strawberry cultivars were used as material. This cultivars were investigated in Adana and Pozantı ecological conditions. In this study adaptation of experimental cultivars was research besides of reproduction biology. In TTC polen viability test Tango (71.16%- May) in Adana and Early Glow (77.56%-May) gave the highest results. The most suitable pollen germination rates were determined 68.24% in Adana and 76.46% in Pozantı in Early Glow. Pollen production capasity per anther changed from 2940.0 number/anther (July-Douglas) two 6024.0 number/anther (May-Early Glow) in Adana, from 3089.7 number/anther (June-Douglas) to 5996.0 number/anther (May-Eraly Glow) in Pozanü. It was examined monthly and total production per plant that Selva strawberry cultivars gave the best result both Adana and Pozanü ecological conditions. Other fruit quality enters were not important found to be statistically. Regarding leaf area per plant, Selva in Adana and Tango in Pozanü gave the best results.
