Özet (EN)

Photovoltaic technologies are growing and developing to be the main electric technology in the future, due to their benefits (free, clean energy and low maintenance). The disadvantage of PV technology is the low output power. PV modules are semi-conductor materials and they are very sensitive to temperature; increasing the cell temperature leads to decrease in the output power. There are different techniques or models to estimate the cell temperature of PV module. Some of these models did not put the wind effect, humidity and the rest of ambient parameters in consideration and that make some of these models somewhat away from real conditions; but some of the models which neglect the effect of wind are good for some type of PV technologies. That's why different experimental studies must take place to validate these models. The objective of this study is to compare between fifteen different cell temperature models according to PV output power and validate these models based on experimental data in Yildiz technical university, Istanbul. The simulation software used to make the validation and comparison was MATLAB 2018a. The PV panel used in this study is Thin-film PV solar panel. The result showed that all the fifteen models are accurate only at the maximum points when the solar radiation was high, the difference between the experimental and models results can reach to less than 1% at these maximum points, but in different points, the difference changes from 8% to 81%. Also the results indicate that the most accurate model among these fifteen models is NOCT (Nominal Operating Cell Temperature) which was model2, and the second one was Mondol's model which is Model14, these two models did not take wind speed in consideration. And from another angle the worst models among these fifteen models were Model6 and Model10, in these two models the wind speed was taken into account. Key words: Photovoltaic, cell temperature, pv output power, thin film, wind
