The problems parents and children face in the families with different incomes and their expectations from each other (The example in province Eskişehir)

This study which is made to determine the problems parents and children face in the families with different incomes and their expectations from each other.The sample of study consists of total 700 students who studied in 9 high schools in Eskişehir in 2010-2011 education year,who are volunteered to answer the questions and 700 parents.In this study,questionnaires which were made by searcher by scanning related searches and written sources were used as tools for collecting information.These collected information were controlled and evaluated by the help of SPSS program (Statistic Packets for Social Sciences).The test of ki-kare was made in order to compare the problems that parents live with their children and their expectations with their monthly income.In the findings,according to families? average monthly income,the difference which was observed in their views for the problems in the topics of time parents and children spend together outside the home which they live (p=.027),their outside activity (p=.025),the choose of friends (p=.035),wearing style (p=.024) was meaningful. According to families? monthly average income,the difference which was observed in the views of mothers about their expectations from their children wasn?t meaningful. According to families? monthly average income,the difference which was observed in the views of fathers? about their expectations from children like:their children should become more successful (p=.010),their children should wear according to his/her fathers? want (p=.037),their children should help in house works (p=.044),their children shouldn?t make-up (p=.049),was meaningful.The 52,6% of mothers want their children to study more,and the 45,4% of fathers want their children to study more.Also 56,9% of mothers and 50,2% of fathers want their children to become more successful.In the light of these findings,some advises were presented which can improve the relations between parents and children.Key Words:family,communication,family relationships,the problems in family, the attitudes of parents,bachelorhood.
