Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, calcium aluminate (CA) cement and brown fused alumina (BFA) as aggregate were used to produce a rotating roll material which is the carrier element in ceramic rapid firing furnaces. At the same time, a foam filter production, which used in the filtration of molten metals, has been tried with different water/cement ratios containing CA cement. Replication method used as the production method of this stage. In the production phase of the roll, the mortar was prepared with CA cement and BFA then, after mixed with the mechanical mixer mortar poured into the cylinder molds. Strenght test, fracture and outer surface scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis-thermal gravimetry DTA-TG analysis were compound to the produced samples and compared with commercial sample properties. The results indicates that the produced cement material provides similar properties to the commercial products. Similarly, DTA-TG, strength test and SEM analysis were applied to foam filter samples after 1500oC heat treatment. As a result of the analyzes, foam filter samples produced with cement have the necessary thermal durability in the industry.
