Özet (EN)

Acrylic bone cement is the material used in the orthopaedic field to fix cemented prostheses to the bone, and it supports the the spacers, which help to implant process, holding on to the bone. In this research, it is examined that the effect of the additive substances on mechanical endurance by adding the acyrcylic based cements, produced from polimetilmetacrilattan and generated from diverse raw materials , various ratios of antibiotics. In the production of hydroxyapatite, which will be used for biocompatible additive material, sea shell and CaOH2 are used, and characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Trasform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The produced hydroxyapatite was used in the production of acrylic bone cement. In addition, antibiotics were added into the bone cements considerated as the best, also based on hydroxyapatite additive ratios. The samples are characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Trasform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The strength of bone cement with hydroxyapatite additive was determined by compression test and the maximum temperature during polymerization was measured. In conclusion, it was observed that bone cement and hydroxyapatite produced with different raw materials was synthesized successfully, the addition hyroxyapatite (stated amount) increased the compressive strength and decreased thepolymerization temperature. When the antibiotics was considered, it was shown that antibiotics decreased the polymerization temperature as well, but as its added to the bone cement which contained hydroxyapatite, it inhibited the polymerization. At the same time, it can be referred that the antibitotics which was used more than the level of specific ratios, had an negative effect on mechanical endurance.
