Detection of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus from various clinical samples by using different techniques

Abstract (EN)

Background Staphylococcus aureus is the most causative contagion agent in human being among bacterial species, for this reason, has great medical concern. The aims of the study, to segregate and identify Staphylococcus aureus has antibiotics resistance from patients and also to determine of their antimicrobial susceptibility to various antibiotics and Identification of genes responsible for resistance. In this survey, 100 samples of Staphylococcus aureus were collected from 1650 patients during 6 months, and recognition of S. aureus confirmed by VITEK2 system, antimicrobial sensitivity assay was diagnosed by the Kirby-Bauer technique, also oxacillin was used to the screening of MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), and mecA and femA gene were detected by a polymerase chain reaction. As a result, 87 samples of Staphylococcus aureus diagnosed as MRSA by disc diffusion method, resisted to oxacillin and 13 samples of them were sensitive determined as MSSA(methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus). MecA gene was positive for 83 strains of this MRSA but 4 species of MRSA were determined as negative for mecA. Also 70 individuals of this bacteria have femA gene and 17 were negative from MRSA. In light of the evidence of this study, MRSA has determined as causative agents among patients of different cases. Ciprofloxacin is the most effective antibiotic against this pathogen and not all MRSA have mecA and femA gene. It is possible to say that, new gene are related with the resistance of Staphylococcus aureus.
