Abstract (EN)

In this study, wear behaviours of wear plates, produced by metal arc welding using different hardfacing alloys, have been investigated. Hardfacing has been applied on St-37 steel surface. Three different welding wires have been used in this process. These are commercial flux cored wire including boron, commercial flux cored wire including chromium carbide and massive welding wire. 100% ferrochromium powder, 10% (wt.) ferroboron+ 90 %(wt.) ferrochromium and 30% (wt.) ferroboron+ 70% (wt.) ferrochromium powder mixtures have been added to massive wire during the welding process. The samples produced with massive wire have classified into: 50% (wt.) massive wire+ 50% (wt.) powder and 30% (wt.) massive wire+ 70% (wt.) powder.Microstructural investigation, micro and macro hardness tests, wear test, SEM(EDX) analysis, XRD analysis have been carried out. Dry sand/ rubber wheel abrasion wear test has been executed adequate to ASTM G-65. Hardox 400 plate has been chosen as reference for comparing wear behaviours of samples. SiO2 sand under 1 mm size has been used as abrasive in wear test. Dry sand/ rubber wheel abrasion test has been performed for 30 minutes under 13 kg load.According to the test results, minimum wear loss has been obtained in sample including 30% (wt.) massive wire+ 70% (wt.) powder with and 30% (wt.) ferroboron+ 70% (wt.) ferrochromium powder mixture. Wear loss value of this sample has been found so close to the wear loss of commercial flux cored wire including boron, so cost analysis has been also determined. Cost analysis showed that the cost of sample including 30% (wt.) massive wire+ 70% (wt.) powder with and 30% (wt.) ferroboron+ 70% (wt.) ferrochromium powder mixture is lower 50% than commercial flux cored wire including boron.
