SUMMARY The aim of this study is to detect the somatotip features of the elite volleyball players in the Turkey Men Super League Club and the Men 1st League in 2000-2001 season and to perform the status determination in accordance with the findings. The elite volleyball players group comprised the sportsmen playing in the super league and primary league. Each group consisted 12 healthy volleyball players and all the players Vere voluntary to participate in this study. The average age, height and 'weight of the reagents were 195,0 ± 5,0 cm, 90,2 ± 4,0 kg in the volleyball players of Super League and 191,1 ± 4,3 cm, 85,2 kg in the volleyball players of the primary league. Standard area and laboratory tests were applied to determine the physical structures of the reagents. While ANOVA test was used in the statistical evaluations, TUKEY test was used to determine the differences between the groups. T-test statistical analysis was applied to detect whether there is considerable difference in the anthropometrical features of the teams in terms of league status. T-test statistical analysis was applied for the weights, heights and age values. "The Levance Test for Equality of Krionus" was applied to observe the difference between the measurements of the teams (F- value). T-test for Equality of means was applied to detect whether there are remarkable differences between the measurements of the teams. When the heights and weights of the groups regarded, it was detected the players of the super league was higher and heavier then the players of the primary league! There was not remarkable difference between the groups in terms body intensity rates (P< 0,05). The players of the primary league are remarkably lower than the players of the super league. The average body fat rates of the super league players was 10,01 ± 2,5 and of primary league players was 9,1 % ± 0,9. It was seen that the values obrained were within the limits regarded as normal for the elite men volleyball players., When the groups are compared in terms of their somatotip features* the mezamorphic score of the players of super league was higher than of the primary league players. The average somatotip scores of players of super league were 1,7 ± 0,9, 5,0 ± 0,9, 3,2 ± 0,9. To conclude, it was seen that the elite volleyball players were Ectomorphic-Mezomorphy.
