Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the sociological reasons in the background of differentiation of high school students according to the violence events, peer bullying and violence perception in high schools. In this context, together with the existence of dynamics which are effective in the choice of high school type of students who are studying in different high school types; income level of families, family types, immigration, domestic violence, living environment, violence culture of the school in which the education is continuing; the sociological causes of smoking, alcohol and drug addiction, media and internet habits, the presence of a relative in a prison house and the differentiation of thinking styles according to high school types were questioned. The aim of this study was to investigate the reasons that shape students' perceptions of violence and how they make sense of violence on different sociological levels. The study is a descriptive study structured with a research design in which quantitative data are collected. The main subject of this study is to reveal the sociological reasons behind the differentiation of high school students' perceptions of violence according to the high school types. The research was carried out in four high schools selected from different high school types in Tomarza District of Kayseri Province in 2018-2019 academic year. The posivitist method was chosen because it had a testing perspective.
