Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to analyse the relationship betweenperfectionismtraits and foreign language classroom anxiety of high school students the research consists of five sections. These are; Introduction, Conceptual Framework, Methods, Results and Explanation, Conclusion Discussion and Recommendations. The research was carried out in 2012-2013 academic year on 378 students studying in 9 different high schools affiliated to İstanbul Maltepe District Education Directorate. 197 female and 181 male students got involved in this research. In order to measure perfectionism traits of the student, Frost, Marten, Lahart and Rosenblates' Multi Dimensional Perfectionism Scale; to determine foreign language classroom anxiety Horwitz's Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale and also for demographic characteristics, Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher were used in this research. Multi Dimensional Perfectionism Scale includes six dimensions: Organization, Concern over Mistakes, Doubting about Actions, Parent Expectation, Parental Critism and Personal Standarts.Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale does not include any dimensions. The frequency tables and percentage of demographic characteristics were presented. Also, Perfectionism Traitsand foreign language classroom anxiety of the students were tested; analysis on whether those variables diversified or not was carried out according to demographic characteristics and the relationships among them were analyzed. The acquired data were analyzed and interpreted by SPSS 15 program. As a result of Pearson's Correlation Analysis that was done to determine the relationships between 'Multi Dimensional Perfectionism Scale' sub-dimensions and "Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale" a significant relationship was founded among Concern over Mistakes sub-dimension, Doubting about Actions sub-dimension, Parental Critism sub-dimension in a positive way when the results of the research was evaluated.
