Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the effects of different locations (Karaduraklı, Dalakçı, Eskidoğanlı, Akçaağıl and Merkez) and cutting times on yield and quality of 70% Hungarian vetch (Vicia pannonica Crantz.) and 30% triticale (Xtriticosecale Wittmack) mixture in the 2019-2020 vegetation period in Kırşehir ecological conditions in randomized blocks in a split plot design with three replications. According to locations and cutting times, the highest yields of green herbage, dry matter and crude protein were obtained from Dalakçı location and milk stage (1932.2, 515.1, 75.9 kg da-1 and 1816.5, 528.7 kg da-1, 67.7 kg da-1, respectively), the lowest yield was obtained from the Central location in booting stage (1304.2, 359.5 kg da-1, 52.3 kg da-1 and 1470.2 kg da-1, 358.8 kg da-1, 60.9 kg da-1, respectively). According to locations, the highest ADF, NDF and ADL values were obtained from Central location (34.1%, 53.6% and 6.9%, respectively), while the lowest ADF value was from Dalakçı (32.8%), NDF value from Akçaağıl (52.5%) and ADL values from Karaduraklı, Dalakçı and Eskidoganli locations (6.5%). According to cutting times, the highest ADF, NDF and ADL values were obtained in milk stage (35.9%, 55.9%, 7.4%, respectively), the respective lowest values (30.5%, 49.9%, 5.9%, respectively) were obtained in the booting stage period. The lowest digestible dry matter ratio value was obtained in milk stage and Central location (60.9% and 62.4%, respectively), while the highest value was obtained in booting stage and Dalakçı location (65.1% and 63.4%, respectively). The highest digestible dry matter yield value was obtained in milk stage and Dalakçı location (322.3 kg da-1 and 325.0 kg da-1, respectively), and the lowest value was obtained in booting stage and Central location (233.8 kg da-1 and 223.2 kg da-1, respectively). According to present results, different locations and cutting times affected yield and quality parameters significantly in the mixture of 70% Hungarian vetch and 30% triticale. Dalakçı location showed higher performance in terms of crude protein, green herbage and dry matter yield values than those of other locations. As the vegetation progressed from the booting stage to the milk stage, the yield values increased while the values of the quality parameters decreased. In conclusion, in Kırşehir ecological conditions, it can be recommended that the mixture of 70% Hungarian vetch and 30% triticale should be harvested in milk stage for high yield and in the period between the end of the flowering stage and the beginning of the milk stage for higher quality combined with yield.
