Abstract (EN)

Tool wear is the most important problem during machining. In the machining, all types of cutting tools are exposed to wear and wear continues until the tool ends its life. The parameters that affect tool wear related to cutting such as cutting speed, feed rate, cutting depth, cutting fluid. Tool life is determined by using models based on cutting parameters-tool life relation. Taylor, Gilbert, Krononberg models are the most commonly used for prediction of tool life. In the literature it is seen that the studies carried out on `?n?? exponent for modern cutting tool materials is inadequate. For this reason, the aim of this study is to obtain the `?n?? exponent for Ceramic. Cutting tool which one finding wider usage nowadays by experimentally. In Taylor?s tool life model (V.Tn=C) the `?n?? exponents is determined based on cutting tool material and machining method. In accordance with the developing cutting tool technology, TS 10329 (ISO 3685) which is a guide for tool life experiment for different cutting tools referenced for the experiments to be carried out. The information obtained in this study added to the literature. "n" exponent values within calculated by graphic method and regression analysis the specified range has been found in the literature. In both methods, the same "n" exponent values were found.
