Özet (EN)

In this study, effects of the seismic isolators which are used to improve the seismic performance on different reinforced concrete structures are investigated. These systems, particularly preferred in critical structures such as hospitals and data centers, are positioned at the foundation level of the structure to isolate the superstructure from ground motions and provide damping of earthquake forces. In the study, performance objectives of two separate reinforced concrete structures under different soil conditions have been evaluated using lead rubber and curved surface friction pendulum type isolators. The structural model and isolator designs have been designed based on Turkish Building Earthquake Code 2018, TSEN 1337-1, and TSEN 15129 standards. For time history analysis, while selected earthquake records have been processed by using Seismosignal and Seismomatch programs, structural modeling and analyses have been performed by SAP2000 and Protastructure 2025 programs In the analysis results, seismic behavior of two different structures, advantages and limitations of the isolation systems compared to each other, and the effects of soil-structure interaction on performance have been systematically investigated.
