Abstract (EN)
Silver nanoparticles (AgNP) have been widely used in recent years for the production of antimicrobial materials, electronic technology, industrial, healthcare, drinking water and wastewater treatment. As a result of the increased exposure to AgNPs in recent years, research on the safety risks of AgNPs has attracted great attention from the scientific community. In these studies, the effects of AgNPs on growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1 in carp were studied. In this thesis study, the blood serum of carp fish (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758) was treated with AgNP and humic acid coated silver nanoparticles (AgNP+HA) at different doses (0.03, 0.3 and 3 ppm) and durations (4 and 21 days). Its effect on growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-I) levels was focused on. In the study, the characteristic properties of AgNPs and AgNP+HAs to be applied to carp fish were determined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Electron microscopy (SEM), Atomic force microscopy, Zeta size analysis and UV-Vis spectroscopy methods. As a result of the blood serum GH level analysis, it was determined that the decrease in all dose groups (0.03, 0.3 and 3 ppm) of AgNP applied in the acute and subchronic periods was significant (p < 0.05) compared to the control group. While the change in blood serum GH levels in the 0.03 and 0.3 ppm dose groups where AgNP+HA was applied in the acute period was insignificant compared to the control group (p<0.05), the decrease in the 3 ppm dose group was significant (p<0.05). It was determined that the decrease in blood serum GH levels in all dose groups where AgNP+HA was applied in the subchronic period was significant (p<0.05). As a result of comparisons of different AgNP applied periods between the same dose groups, it was seen that while the changes in GH levels between the 0.03 and 0.3 ppm groups were insignificant, the decrease between the 3 ppm dose groups was significant.
