Abstract (EN)

Friction and wear between mechanical parts that are continuously moving together have become. Resistance of the wearing parts are reduced which causes undesirable troubles such as breaking, fractures or sticking in the without oiled environment. To minimize wearing effect, it is important to choose compatible materials and also working parameters. For this propose to minimize the wearing of the moving materials appropriate lubricant and lubricating system must be used.Using a portion of the power for the friction loss in an internal combustion engine is one of the most important factors as determining the fuel economy and performance of the vehicle. The heat produced in the combustion of the fuel is conducted to the cylinder liner surface by the piston ring and also reduces wear resistance of the cylinder surface. Also, it causes oxidation and evaporation of the lubricant oil on the upper cylinder walls. Water vapor, acidic combustion products, carbon deposits and particles originating from the combustion process make a contribution to the wear of the piston, rings and cylinder liner. When the combustion products and wear particles from the piston ring area are mixed into the lubricating oil on the piston rings, an oil composition with poor lubricating properties is formed on the piston rings. Thus, friction and wear in engine increases. And this increase in friction causes to increase of power loss.In this study, a wear device is designed and manufactured for the purpose of examining friction and wear between piston ring-cylinder liner. The effect of using 100% oil, 100% diesel, 50% oil + 50% diesel, 100% TTYME, and 100% AYME as a lubricant on the friction and wear is examined experimentally, depending on the load and revolution(cycle) between piston ring-cylinder liner.Key Words: Engine, friction, wear, lubrication and alternative fuels
