Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this investigation is to compare some properties of acrylic resins polymerized by conventional system, injection molding technique and acetal resin polymerized by injection molding technique. The properties evaluated are water sorbtion, solubility, flexural strength, fracture toughness and amount of residual monomer.The water sorbtion and solubility values were obtained by weighing the specimens immersed in water for 24 hours and then dried. After statistical evaluation, there seemed to be significant difference between all groups.Three-point flexural method was used for flexural strength.After statistical evaluation, there seemed to be significant difference between asetal resin and the others.For fracture toughness, the results were obtained under applying force. After statistical evaluation, there seemed to be significant difference between all groups.Fort the evaluation of residual monomer content, gas chromatography was applied. There seemed to be significant difference between all groups.When all the results are considered as a whole; asetal resin has good mechanical properties. But its amount of rest monomer was higher than the others. Further research is needed for the evaluation of clinical application of acetal resins.
