The evaluation of children and adolescents affected by different deficiency disorders by determining emotional and behavioral disorders

In this research, it was aimed to determine the emotional and behavioral disorders of children and adolescents affected by different types of disabilities and to evaluate them in relation with each others. The study was conducted with a total number of 1439 students having varied level of disabilities: 295 with mild to moderate mental retardation, 291 with moderate and severe mental retardation, 293 with autism spectrum disorder, 282 with hearing impairment, 278 with visual impairment, and 501 evaluaters, their evaluater teacher. A descriptive and causal comparison research model was used among the quantitative research methods. The data of the study were collected through Teacher's Report Form (TRF) and analyzed by SPSS 23.0 package program. A significant difference was found between the type of affected disability and emotion and behavior disorders. The highest score of the TRF scale was for those with autism spectrum disorder and the lowest for those with visual impairment. It was found out that male participants of the study had higher scores over female ones. In addition, participants with multiple disabilities had higher scores over those who have one disability. On the other hand, it was demonstrate that the scores obtained from the TRF scale increased with education grade. When the scores obtained from TRF scale wew evaluated according to teacher characteristics, it was figure out that primary school teachers reported higher scores for their students those teacher. As a result of the research, it was discovered that emotions and behaviors of students exhibited could differentiate according to the type of disability they were affected.
