Effect of different growing mixtures on yield and quality in cultivation of maitake (Grifola frondosa) mushroom

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the cultivation condition of Grifola frondosa (Maitake mushroom), which has not been produced in Turkey, and to find the most suitable substrate materials and their mixing ratios by testing the effects of different substrates on yield and quality of Maitake mushroom. WC 828 numbered race was used to obtain spawn and Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium was preferred for propagation of the main culture. The mycelia of G. frondosa; oak (C), oak (2 w) + bran (1 w) (E1), poplar (2 w) + bran (1 w) (E2), oak (1 w) + poplar (1 w) + bran (1 w) (E3), wheat stalk (1 w) + bran (1 w) (E4), oak (1 w) + wheat stalk (1 w) + bran (1 w) (E5) were inoculated into substrate mixtures. In the study; pH analysis, moisture content (%), nitrogen (%), carbon (%), ratio of carbon:nitrogen parameters were determined and the growing mixtures were compared in terms of mycelia development speed (day), yield (g), biological efficiency (%) and average mushroom weight (g). At the end of study, while the shortest mycelia development time was obtained from E1 with 35 days, the longest was found in E4 with 42 days. No mycelium development was observed in K, E2 and E3 mixtures. In protein analysis performed on dried mushroom samples; the highest protein content was 35.53% in E4 and the lowest was 32.99% in E5. Dry matter was 14.79% in E4 medium and 13.57% in E5 medium. The mushroom weight (for a single mushroom) was recorded as 17.26 g in E4 medium and 33.92 g in A5 medium. While the mushroom yield was 55.02 g/kg compost in E4, it was determined as 124.82 g/kg in E5. It was detected that the biological efficiency rate ranged from 22.83% (A4) to 29.29% (E5).
