Abstract (EN)
The changes required by our age have also affected the duties of individuals and societies. The education programs, which serve to raise individuals suitable for the qualifications of the developing age, are updated and changed. When the 2018 Science Curriculum examined. it is seen that it is a student-based, inquiry-based teaching strategy and a curriculum that includes unique skills. When the applicability of the teaching methods and techniques emphasized in the program is examined, the teachers in the teaching process; It is faced with problems such as lack of material, lack of time, high number of acquisitions, not suitable for teaching environments, student apathy. In addition, how the skills specified in the 2018 Science Curriculum can be acquired by students is not discussed in detail in the program. In the study, the teaching process was designed according to the ASSURE teaching design model by enriching it with different methods and techniques in to increase the quality of the teaching process and to minimize the setbacks encountered in the process. The fact that the ASSURE model is class-oriented, its applicability with fewer practitioners, requires initial design skills for the practitioner, includes student analysis and participation, comes to the fore with the revision it includes in the evaluation process, increases the usability of the ASSURE model by the researcher teacher. The ASSURE Model is named after the initials of the stages that make up itself (Analyze Learners, State Objective, Select Instructional Methods, Media, Materials), Utilize Media and Materials. ), Require Learner Participation (Ensuring Student Participation), Evaluate And Revise (Evaluation and Revision). The study was planned, conducted and completed as an action research. The study group of the research consists of 15 male students attending 6th grade in 2019- 2020 academic year. In the study, activities on "support and movement system", "digestive system", "circulatory system", "respiratory system", "excretory system" in the "Systems in our body" unit were designed according to the ASSURE Model. In the study, "Systems in Our Body Unit Achievement Test", "Scientific Process Skills Scale", "Multidimensional 21st Century Skills Scale" were used to examine the effect of the "Systems in Our Body" unit designed according to the ASSURE model, on students' academic achievement, scientific process skills and 21st century skills. A "SemiStructured Interview" was conducted with the students to get their opinions about the course conducted according to the ASSURE model steps enriched with different methods and techniques. At the end of the study, it was determined that the teaching process designed according to the ASSURE model made a significant difference on students' academic achievement and scientific process skills. It was determined that the applications made did not make a significant difference on 21st century skills of the students. In this case, the idea that skill acquisition requires longer time practice and more interdisciplinary work. When the semi-structured interview data examined, it was concluded that the students expressed a positive opinion about the developed activities and the teaching process enriched with different methods and techniques positively affected the students. Students participating in the study stated that they found the designed teaching process exciting, interesting and useful. Some methods and techniques in which students use positive expressions; drama, modeling, bringing different organs and structures to the classroom environment, concept map, educational game, educational song, Note AY technique. In the study, the positive effects of the teaching process designed according to the ASSURE model on students were determined. The ASSURE Model, used in science education is thought to affect the process positively, and recommended to be used in studies of students at different levels for different subjects.
