Abstract (EN)
One of the most common problems in the use of piezosurgery instruments, which have many advantages, is the breakage of piezosurgery insert tips. In this study, the evaluation and comparison of biomechanical properties such as fracture and durability of piezosurgery osteotomy insert tips with different surface properties were made. The most frequently used piezosurgery osteotomy insert tip in our clinic was determined to be used in the research, and 40 of the osteotomy insert tips were produced from 4 different groups, 10 in each group. The first group was coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) on 54 HRC AISI 420C stainless steel, and the second group was coated with Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) on 54 HRC AISI 420C stainless steel. In the last two groups, the hardness characterization of AISI 420C stainless steel was changed and 54 HRC and 48 HRC stainless steel were produced uncoated. Piezosurgery osteotomy tips were placed in a universal test device at equal standards and subjected to cantilever bending test. "Elastic limit" points and "Energy" values up to the elastic limit point in the graph obtained in the comparison between groups were used. In addition to the bending test, finite element analysis for a dynamic system was applied to the piezosurgery osteotomy insert tip. Thus, equivalent stress distributions on a moving piezosurgery osteotomy insert tip were evaluated and studied. As a result, Elastic limit values of uncoated piezosurgery osteotomy insert tips made of 48 HRC stainless steel were found to be statistically significant compared to the other groups (p<0.008). According to the finite element analysis findings, the area where the most fracture is expected on the piezosurgery osteotomy insert tip was determined as the bending region in the body part.
