The views of administrators and teachers regarding application of Fati̇h Project in iİstanbul

The purpose of this research is to determine the views of administrators and teachers regarding application of Increasing Opportunities Improving Technology Movement (FATIH) Project. A study group of research that used screening model generated 19 school administrators and 172 teachers working at pilot schools in the city of Istanbul. The views of administrators and teachers regarding to the application of FATIH Project were examined in three groups; the views related to technology divide, the views related to experienced problems and the views according to change management. Survey form consisting of 36 articles that was developed by researcher was used in collecting data. Administrators and teachers consider that the results obtained from the research that are using the internet and computer in Turkey, and number of users of e-government and e-trade will increase thanks to the FATIH Project. At the same time, it is stated by administrators and teachers that satisfying technical equipment was provided to the schools for FATIH Project but the interaction between tablets and smart board was not established. That is the reason why tablets were not used during the class. Moreover, according to the administrators and teachers, service training that is one of the components of the Project was not effective. Participating administrators and teachers agree that satisfying technical support was not provided to them and also the change activities related to Project were not carried out during the planned period. Also administrators and teachers consider that the opinions of school staff were not evaluated and progress of Project was not controlled by the Ministry.
