The system of İsmaili belief in the Fatimid Period

The Fâtımîd period is considered to be the golden age for the İsmâilî Da'wa since it was established and claimed power in North Africa. The Ismailis made Cairo the center of the İsmâilî mission and tried to organize it throughout the World. In General, Religion and politics are inseparable in History. This is why the researcher put this vision to the table of research and began to discuss the İsmâilî belief in the Fâtımîd period. This dissertation lies in four main parts; the second one includes two points, one of them gives a survey of the Fâtımîd period, while the other one generally discusses the main aspects of the İsmâilî belief. This was achieved through an introduction to the fundamental points in Islamic theology. When an Islamic sect such as the Ismailis is studied, undoubtedly we have to focus on its philosophical aspect. However, the main aim for the researcher was the theological side. Hence, the researcher followed the Islamic theological school starting with God, Prophets and Resurrection. These three points represent the other three parts of the dissertation. The researcher focused in his thesis on the İsmâilî sources themselves, thus to avoid any misunderstanding or misinterpretation through the research process. In addition, the researcher tried to pursue the way Ismailism affected many cultures as well as its effects on others. For instance, studying the links among Neoplatonic philosophy, Indian philosophy and İsmâilî thought.
