Abstract (EN)

A BATTERY CHARGE CIRCUITUTILIZING PHASE SHIFTED PWM DC/DC CONVERTER(M.Sc. Thesis)Isa GOKGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYNOVEMBER 2005ABSTRACTPhase shifted PWM full-bridge dc-dc converters have the advantage of utilizingthe parasitics of the transistors and the transformers to establish partialresonance during the switching transient so that the switching losses arereduced. This, in turn, makes it possible to increase switching frequencies andreduce the size of the system. Therefore, these converters can be used at highpower levels. In this work, phase-shifted PWM full-bridge converters have been analyzed, simulated, and a 150-W prototype suitable for battery charging has been builtand tested. The control of the converter has been achieved by a DSP controller. Both simulation and experimental results showed that the control techniqueresults in lower losses, higher efficiency.Science Code : 916Key Words : phase shifted converter, ZVS, battary charge, DSPPage Number : 86Adviser : Assoc.
