Abstract (EN)

Since the industrial revolution, various manufacturing methods have been developed. These methods are basically grouped in two categories: machining and chipless manufacturing. Nowadays, additive manufacturing method is the most prominent alternative production method in the solution of these problems in cases where traditional production methods are inadequate or inefficient, with the change of customer expectations and increased sensitivity to environmental problems. In this study, the literature study which is about additive manufacturing method in terms of the advantages and disadvantages of this method is reviewed and the strength of an industrial part produced with 3D printer technology is investigated. For this purpose, an eyed hook which is frequently used in load carrying systems in the industry, is modeled with CAD software and is experimentally examined while producing by additive manufacturing method with different production parameters (filling density and infill pattern). Additionally, the model is analyzed with the finite element method and the stresses on the part are examined. As a result of the experiment, in the part of the samples where the breaking started and the highest stress is determined by finite element analysis, improvements are made in the infill pattern and the capacity changes are compared. For this purpose, an open source cartesian type 3D printer is designed and manufactured, where production parameters can be changed. As a result of this thesis study, the effect of the infill pattern on the production time, the amount of material used and the durability of the parts is examined comparatively. In addition, with the advantage provided by 3D production technology, it is observed that the strength of the parts can be increased by making reinforcements on the weak volume detected on the part either by test or finite element method.
